Kajsa Malmström
Jewelry designer
By working with geometric shapes, sharp lines, asymmetry and contrasts, Kajsa Malmström strives to create expressions that challenge the eye. She is constantly looking for new ways to negotiate her own perceptions of style, good taste and aesthetics, while exploring uncharted stylistic territories.
For her, jewelry is a way of expressing herself – works of art that carry a personal meaning and accompany her in everyday life. Jewelry can enhance a presence, act as protective amulets or help build a persona, just like clothing. Through what is worn and how it is worn, a visual self-expression is created. The jewelry she creates is intended to be empowering, never apologetic, always proud.
Her sources of inspiration are drawn from design movements such as Bauhaus and the Memphis Group, as well as from a long line of artists and designers whose expressions challenge both the eye and the mind.
